COVID-19 Surge Temporarily Suspends Miami-Dade Jury Trials and In-Person Hearings
Due to the surge of COVID-19 cases in South Florida, Miami-Dade Chief Judge Nushin Sayfie ordered the suspensions of in-person hearings and jury trials on Thursday, September 2, 2021. The Court Ordered suspension of in-person trials and hearings is set to expire on September 17, 2021. Although jury trials have been suspended, mediations, arbitrations, depositions and zoom hearings will move forward.
Now is the time for litigators to sharpen their knives and thoroughly prepare their war chests for trial. Experienced litigation attorneys in Miami, Broward, and West Palm Beach understand that visuals and demonstratives increase a juror's capacity to understand and retain information presented to them at trial.
